I want to be your representative of the 24th Congressional District in Washington D.C. For far too long, we have had to choose between the lesser of two evils when going to the polls, and it seems as if the Democrats and Republicans share the same policies; that’s because they do. They are puppets of the Military Industrial Complex and Corporate Interests. Our government represents the elite and wealthy of this country, not the everyday person.
I believe corporations must pay their fair share in taxes. Furthermore, we must cut the Pentagon’s $885 billion a year budget. We will garner support for HR 1111, cut the budget in half and create a Departmet of Peacebuilding in the executive branch. With 20% of our congresspeople being veterans and more than 50% millionaires, no wonder our foreign and domestic policies promote war and regime change!
I support our veterans by bringing them back home and not sending them to any new wars in the name of “democracy.” According to the Brown University Costs of War study, 30,177 veterans have committed suicide since 9/11, while 7,052 were killed in the same period.
It is hard to admit that the U.S. government lies about the reasons for going to war and sends our soldiers to protect the corporate economic interests and natural resources without considering the human cost at home and abroad.
We must also remember the innocent civilians killed in the regional conflicts in the U.S.-led post 9/11; some 4.5 - 5.7 million people have died directly and indirectly due to wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen, Syria, and Pakistan. And let us not forget the 38 million more who are now refugees, barely surviving, displaced in other countries as well as their own (link to the study).
We must KNOW the U.S. history of wars, coups, and regime change so we do not continue to follow the same destructive policies. It is time for all citizens to be informed and choose leaders who represent the MAJORITY of Americans and want to make the world a better, more peaceful place. Albert Einstein said, “Problems cannot be solved with the same mindset that created them.” It is time for a change in our hearts and our government. Together, we can bring this change to our communities and the world.
WE ARE STRONGER TOGETHER!

Demand a CEASEFIRE in Gaza. While 60% of the U.S. population believes our government should push for Israel to stop the bombings, the US continues to send military aid to Israel.
Request that he sponsor HR Bill 1111, Peace Building Department which would cut the Pentagon Budget and invests in domestic peace building policies.
Request that he sponsor HR Bill 77, the Treaty to Prohibit Nuclear Weapons.
